The Verification of Military Education and Training (VMET) document (DD Form 2586) is a document that provides a comprehensive summary of a service members military training, education, and work experience. Service members gain access to this document during their Transition Assistance Program (TAP) experience.
The VMET is not a substitute for formal military transcripts, like the JST and CCAF. It is a valuable tool for job applications, resume building, and career transitions.
Note: U.S. Coast Guard personnel do not have VMET documents.
